Many critics have lambasted both Android and iOS for what they see in their designs. It looks as if both operating systems haven only small difference in their approaches to achieve similar results.

The iOS 10 also comes with a new wake feature, enhanced 3D Touch architecture and widget support. The “wake” feature is added to solve the touch problem that was faced in the previous operating system and this is quite similar with the Android’s feature “Always On”. As apps like Facebook Messanger, WhatsApp and Snapchat dominate the realm of mobile messaging, it seems like Google nor Apple would not be happy to let the others continue their reign.

The Apple’s iOS 10 comes with more social features applied into iMessage in an effort to make it the best chat service for iPhone users. It can make chatting fun with stickers, emojis and more. Android Nougat decided to take a more low-key approach. It comes with better messaging function called Allo and Duo which is a video messaging services. Google claims that Allo will be a messaging app on steroids and is designed to compete against the Messages App of Apple. Duo will be a video messaging app designed to compete against Skype and FaceTime.

Allo has intelligent features and integrates with the phone number. The message bubbles can be resized and there are free emojis, photos, stickers and more. Allo also features reply suggestions. For instance, someone suggests dinner. This app will learn about you and offer replies based on the conversations you had.

#7 Digital Assistants

The digital assistants on both platforms are also getting smarter. Both Google and Apple are opening up Google Now and Siri which are more intelligent than ever.

iOS 10 allows Siri to be integrated with third-party apps in order to catch up to Google Now. You can always ask Siri to order you meals or get you a taxi from Uber. Siri’s intelligence is beyond just commands and voice searches. With the new keyboard, Siri can also help you reply faster. If someone asks you for someone’s number, Siri is able to offer the number as part of the predictive feature on keyboard.
